ACADEMIC STRUCTURE
Bachelor Programmes
WACCM offers six Bachelor programmes. The Bachelor programme curriculum provides a general core curriculum for all the B.A programmes as well as Departmental courses required of each Department. The first three years cover the general core courses which are compulsory for all students. The last year allows for a specialized area of focus. The six area of focus, i.e. the departments are:
- Christian education
- Missiology
- Theology
- Christian Counseling
- Pastoral ministries
- Church Administration
- Biblical studies
The general objectives of the Bachelor programmes are:
- To formulate a theological basis for ministry/vocation
- To communicate on effective application of biblical truths.
- To guide and counsel others in need or as the need arises so that they can hear and respond to the voice of God
- To assist Christian become God’s mouth piece in the mission fields or any other missionary venture
- To enable Christian leaders administer and manage efficiently and effectively
- To research issues and opportunities using a variety of means in the choice of solutions to complex situation.
The departmental objectives are as follows:
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION DEPARTMENT/MAJOR
- To provide the student with a sound knowledge of the philosophical, historical and scriptural foundations of Christian Education.
- To equip the students to utilize principles and patterns in developing their teaching skills
- To enable the student to apply biblically sound principles to life adjustment
- To equip the students on how to develop, analyze and evaluate components of Christianity.
- To enable the students to outline psychological and educational foundations of learning
- To enable the student to apply academic learning to teaching situations
- To enable the students to understand and define educational principles
- To enable the student to practice educational principles in teaching and to develop a repertoire of methods and materials.

Bachelor of Arts in Missiology (department)
The B.A in missions programme is designed to foster the spirit of missions among Evangelical Churches. It is building upon an appropriate foundation or calling into cross-cultural missionary work. This is the main trust of the mission of WACCM. The programme is for those who are already involved in missions work both, frontier and regular missions. It introduces students to biblical historical, theological and cross cultures and for Evangelism within the students own culture.
The objectives of the B.A in Missiology are to:
- Articulate a biblical theology of mission and evangelization, and be able to function within the biblical canon to inform their actual practice of mission and evangelism.
- Integrate insights from field experience and other areas of study within their knowledge of mission and evangelism.
- To enable the student to grasp the historical progress and perspective of missions from New Testament times until the present.
- To stimulate the student to participate in mission oriented programmes such as prison ministry, mission to the rural areas, e.t.c.
- To guide the student to an understanding of the biblical philosophy of missions and the priority of God’s worldwide purposes as revealed in the scriptures.

Bachelor of Arts in Theology
The B.A in Theology is a programme designed for Christians leaders who are interested in theological thought. It is an attempt to expose the students to critical thinking on theological issues that affect the African Church. Through the course requirement, the programme seeks to equip the student to:
- Understand the essential content and historical development of Christian theology.
- Relate Christian theology, History, philosophy and ethics to contemporary issues in African theology and Christian ministry.
- Provide the student with a general understanding of Christian doctrine so that they might understand both great themes of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and see the values of collating scriptures on individual subjects to form the basis of their beliefs.
- Emphasize to the students the absolute relevance of the word of God to the day and age in which the leave. The practical application of the word of God is no less important than the interpretation of it.

The Bachelor of Art in Christian Counselling
The B.A in Christian Counselling is designed to give specialized training to pastors and Christian leaders who are involved in counselling. It offers instruction in theology and practice of counselling within a biblical and theological context. The objective of this programme include to help students to:
- Understand the use of scripture and theology of foundation for the practice of counseling.
- Demonstrate knowledge of historical and contemporary counseling theories.
- Utilize skill necessary to provide therapeutic interventions in a variety of professional settings
- Show understanding of the components of the counseling process.
- Differentiate between principles guiding Christian counseling and secular counseling.

The Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and Church Administration The B.A in pastoral ministry and church administration is specially designed to help church leaders, pastors and overseers who are engaged in leadership responsibilities in the church. This programme is designed to address the preparing leaders for the church and parachurch with the theory and models of servant leadership. The objectives of the program include to help the student to:
- Understand the four classic organizational designs that exist.
- Know the basic discipline for personal and corporate Christian leadership development.
- Acquire the skills required of servant leadership in the church.
- Practice implementing organizational change and resolving the interest conflicts that accompany change.

Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies
The B.A in Biblical Studies is a foundational degree programmes in Bible. It is designed to foster the knowledge of the Bible as well as skills for proper interpretation of the Bible. The programme is designed for Bible knowledge Teachers, Pastors, and those interested in graduate studies in Bible and Theology. The objectives of the Programme include:
- To provide the student the linguistic, historical and critical tools needed for proper understanding and teaching of the scriptures.
- To expose the students to key areas of biblical literature and the major issues in the contemporary use of the scriptures.
- To foster the development of biblical view of the inspiration and authority of the scriptures.
- To develop the students ability to think biblically and to view modern issues in light of the scriptures.

Special Graduation Requirements
Graduation from B.A Programme at WACCM is not automatic. There are requirements that must be fulfilled before a student can apply to graduate. The special requirements stated below must be fulfilled.
(1) Satisfactory completion of 8 semesters of class work including the require core-course and the departmental courses.
(3) Attainment of a grade point of minimum of 2:0 in a 4.0 grading system.
(3) The applicant must have filled an application form for graduation submitted to the registrar’s office at least two months to the time of graduation.
