DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN THEOLOGICAL STUDIES 

The Doctor of philosophy in theological studies (PhD) is an advance graduate degree primarily intended to prepare scholars for academic teaching and research in the field of theology. It is designed for those who have earned a master degree with a minimum of 30 hours of bible and theology. Students should also be theologically informed, and in particular, able to relate their work to various fields of theology. 

Programme Design

The PhD in theological studies is designed on a three-year, full-time model, consisting of at least two years of residence course work followed by a minimum of one year of dissertation research preparation

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN EDUCATIONAL STUDIES  

The doctor of philosophy in Educational studies (PhD) is in an advance graduate degree primarily intended to prepare scholars for academic teaching and research in the field of Christian Education. It is a designed for those who have earned a master degree with a minimum of 30 hours of Educational courses. Student should also be theologically informed and in particular able to relate their work to the field of Education. 

Programme Design 

The PhD In Educational studies is designed on a three-year full-time model, consisting of at least two years of residence course work followed by a minimum of one year of disserting research preparation.

DOCTOR OF MINISTRY DEGREE (D MIN) 

The doctor of ministry (D.Min) is a professional degree programme designed for pastors, chaplains and other church leaders who have earned a masters degree in any field of study. It is a 60 – hour programme (Required of students building on a master degree other than Theology or Divinity)

DOCTOR OF MISSIOLOGY DEGREE (D.MISS) 

The doctor of missiology degree is a three- year programme designed for missions, Organisation, Leaders, Director of missions in church and para-church organizations in African context. Applicants must possess a minimum of masters degree in related fields before seeking for admission into the programme.

DOCTOR OF CHRISTIAN COUNSELING 

The doctor of Christian counseling is a professional doctorate programme designed primarily for Christian counselors in African context. It provides solid foundation for those who intend to work as professional counselors in church and Para-church organistions.

DOCTOR OF RELIGIOUS PHILOSOPHY 

The doctor of religious philosophy is designed to produce Christian philosophers and Christian leaders who would influence the philosophical trend in the field of religion today. The programme exposes students to Christian philosophers of our time and the different schools is thought right from the early church period to the contemporary church period.

GRADING OF COURSES  

The grading system shall be grade point average (G.P.A)

Grade Point Average (G.P.A) 

A grade point average is the average number of grade points earned per semester hour attempted. A GPA is calculated by determining the total number of grade points earned and dividing those points by the total number of semester hours attempted. In a cumulative GPA calculation, if a course repeated, then (1) the last grade earned is the one included in the total grade points earned, and (2) the semester hours are counted only once in the total number of hours attempted. 

Computation of Grade Points Average 
  • To compute the GPA, multiply grade point by the course unit (C U) and divide their summation by the total of the (CU) for the semester. 
  • To compute the cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of student the total Course unit point (CUP) for the two semesters work shall be added and divided by the total number of course unit (CU) taken to date.
